What's the point if we're too exhausted to enjoy it?

Hi Reader!

Hope you're doing well and not buried in work like we are.

Linda and I have actually reached a point where even the things we love feel like work now.

We've really been pushing ourselves too hard lately. ๐Ÿฅด

Have you ever felt that the life you're trying to build is making you exhausted instead of inspired?

If that's how you're feeling too, you're not alone.

We've been there.

In fact... we're there right now. ๐Ÿ˜…

๐Ÿ’› A Realization We Had

I think a lot of us believe that creating a life we love means doing more.

โœ… More work.
โœ… More goals.
โœ… More productivity.

But lately, we've started wondering if the opposite is sometimes true.

Maybe creating a life you love also means protecting your energy.

Maybe it means making time to rest.

Maybe it means slowing down once in a while.

And maybe it means remembering that burnout is not a badge of honor.

๐ŸŒฟ The Life You're Building Should Feel Good Too

It's easy to tell ourselves:

๐Ÿ’ฌ I'll slow down when everything is finished.
๐Ÿ’ฌ I'll rest after this project.
๐Ÿ’ฌ I'll take care of myself later.

But what if later never comes?

In our experience, it rarely does.

โœ“ There's always another project.
โœ“ Another deadline.
โœ“ Another thing to check off the list.

And that made us ask ourselves something:

What's the point of creating a beautiful life if we're too exhausted to enjoy it?

โš–๏ธ Why Balance Matters

There's nothing wrong with being ambitious.

We certainly are.

But if work starts affecting...

๐Ÿ˜ด Your sleep.
๐Ÿ’ Your relationships.
๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ Your health.

...it might be a sign that you're carrying too much.

The funny thing is that we always have to force ourselves to slow down.

๐Ÿ“– To read a book.
๐Ÿ“บ To watch a favorite show.
๐Ÿ˜Œ To take a break.

But we always feel better afterwards.

In fact, we usually get our energy back and feel more motivated and inspired to work.

Funny how that works, isn't it? ๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿ’ก A Little Self-Compassion Goes a Long Way

Sometimes we don't get everything checked off our to-do lists.

Sometimes we miss a deadline.

Sometimes we simply have more on our plate than we can handle.

Self-compassion isn't about pretending everything is fine.

It's about saying:

๐Ÿ’ฌ We tried.
๐Ÿ’ฌ It didn't work this time.
๐Ÿ’ฌ What can we learn from this?

Beating ourselves up rarely helps.

Learning and moving forward usually does.

๐Ÿ’ญ One Thought To Leave You With

We don't think a life you love is built by constantly pushing yourself.

We think it's built by finding a balance between growing and resting.

Between ambition and peace.

This is something we struggle with ourselves, but we're learning that it's necessary. โ˜บ๏ธ

Because we all deserve a life that not only looks good from the outside...

But also feels good to live.
